Welcome to mine!

I find January's question rather fascinating: Do you have a word of the year? Is there one word that sums up what you need to work on or change in the coming year? For instance, in 2021 my word of the year was Finish. I was determined to finished my first draft by the end of the year. In 2022, my word of the year is Ease. I want to get my process, systems, finances, and routines where life flows with ease and less chaos. What is your word for 2023? Why?

I will sum up my single word with a smatter of *images that tell a story and it's your job to guess what the end product is. Ready? Go!

Have you guessed what word my journey is leading up to? What is your word for 2023?
HaPpY nEw YeAr!

Here's a hint of my journey's reason:

I always gave
You always took,
Now stop!
I'm choking
In the sea of stormy hands about me.
Help me breathe again
With your reassuring faces.
My ship is going fast
From your hateful, doubtful worry.
I belong to me!
Give me room to stretch my feelings.
Let me learn.
Let me fall...
Let me fall!
Let me meet this new self I heard about.
"Hi, me. You're not at all
What they said you would be."

Hi Elizabeth, Happy New Year. I have made my guess about your word for 2023, seeing the images. But I'm not too sure.

Free to be me!! What a great notion and so sad that we have to be reminded that it's our right as living breathing beings to express ourselves and expect great things. May this be your year to stretch, reach and grab onto the success you deserve!!

Temptation, bound, then freedom. Is it freedom?

Did you finish your draft last year? I hope you do find the ease of process and routines this year. I couldn't choose one word, so I chose Focus and Intent for all areas of my life. Here's hoping we both make the progress with wish for this year.

I guess I'm slow or just tired. LOL No idea what your word is. But...I'm still wishing you the best with it in 2023.

I'm trying to guess your word - Energy? Optimism? Release? Upward? I give up.
All the best for 2023, Elizabeth!

Your word is free, as in to break free from life's setbacks as a writer. Am I right?

Happy New Year to you too, Elizabeth!

I want to thank everyone for visiting my blog and guessing! I apologize for letting the ball drop in commenting back. Life has taken a different turn (for the better) but it's a high price to pay for that pathway.

I'll respond to everyone individually now. Thank you for your patience, your the best! <3

Hi, Rachna! Happy 2023 to you too!

Nancy, that's a really great guess--yours is synonymous to what I'm thinking, and thank you! I pray that I will stretch, and grow, and succeed!!!

Alex, yes, it's freedom! The temptation was believing that I'd made the right choice at the start. xD

Debs, thank you! It took me quite a while to find the photos I was looking for that fit what I was thinking.

Charity, so much has happened that I don't remember the draft you're referring to! Focus and Intent are great words to live by. I hope we achieve our goals to make it happen!

Chrys, yes, freedom! haha... Thank you for your well-wishes, I hope so too!

Hi, Diane! Why, thank you, here too!

Steph, thank you! It was fun creating this post, and yes, you're correct, it is freedom (but escape is fitting as well, haha). Yay!

Michelle, wow...I love all those words. I'll include them but it's Freedom! Freedom does illicit all of those you listed. <3

Steven, free is a good word choice, yes! I love how you've clarified to be free from life's setbacks as a writer. Thank you!

You guys rock! <3 x <3
