Knowing What to Write in a Blog Post

I think it should be whatever comes to your heart.

I know when I started several years ago, I wanted to sweep you off your feet with interesting topics. So I wrote every single day of the week--Sundays included--with patterned specific themes. That became tiresome. I held blog tours as well as guest posts and threw bloghops and other innovative events. It was fun! But maybe I tried too hard? I can't compete with that now! Ha.

Now I scratch my head in wonder with what interesting topics I can come up with for you. With audience in mind, I become paralyzed and then I lose myself in the 'rules' of what should please you (I have gone to writers conferences where they share with us on how to make your blog work for you). Oh boy... On top of that, I am bloggified out after more than a year when babykins has been born.

Have you lost yourself in topics that would lure readers to your blog? Or do you just write whatever comes naturally?

Who I Am Yesterday: A Path to Coping With a Loved One's Dimentia by Victoria Adams

This book is my personal journey through the first year of learning to manage the day to day joys and tribulations of living with a loved one's dementia. It is a personal story which provides the foundation of the relationship that I have with my husband. It is also a journey of observation; a tale of learning and discovery, and a sharing of the coping mechanisms that worked for me. Join me as I follow the incredible workings of the human mind and learn how to find humor in the midst of heartbreak.

VICTORIA ADAMS is an accountant and financial analyst by profession. Over the years she has been involved in pottery, needlepoint, gardening and other activities that enable her to create or discover. She has been a teacher and occasional speaker. She is also a voracious reader with her most loved books being in the areas of philosophy, religion, history, archeology and anthropology. It is in these areas her husband most wanted her to publish. Perhaps now it is time.

Reviews:

Who I am Yesterday: A Path to Coping with a Loved One’s Dementia by Victoria Adams is a touching account of her efforts to care for her husband through the advance of his confused mental stage. Victoria gives detailed information about practicalities of living with someone who has vascular dementia and gives realistic advice without getting bogged down in complicated medical and legal details.
~Cindy Koepp, author and teacher

An engaging and unique viewpoint on dementia care-giving. Victoria captures the reader with her capacity to communicate and relate with her loved one's changing needs. To say this is a "must read" for care-givers would be an understatement.
~ Connie Pierce, author of Letting go of the Rice

This is a must read for anyone who is affected by dementia- especially their care givers. The author makes a case for dementia and how it affects the lives of those it touches in both the good times and the difficult times. For anyone who has been a care giver, family member, friend or loved one of one with dementia he or she will relate to the stories in this book which will make you laugh and cry. The author takes you on a journey of love, of hope, and of courage.

Like the Phoenix ...

... watch me rise from the ash. Ouch! I hope I don't burn up again.

So I have dropped off the face of the blogoverse and need to get back into it! It isn't easy taking such a long break, then having to recapture where you last left off. That's because there is not picking up where I last left off. I need to build myself up again and that is intimidating, especially when I was rockin' before. It took me about a year to get my little blog to a satisfying traffic flow. Ugh...

How do you reconnect when you have been absent for a long time?

Coming NEXT week: Who I am Yesterday by the fabulous Victoria Adams!

Annah takes over author Clay Gilbert's brain!

Clay Gilbert is a great friend and author. He is passionate for his characters and isn't afraid to let them take over his head! Sometimes I don't know if I'm talking to him or Annah. Let's see what this wonderful book is about!

SYNOPSIS:

Annah, a young female of a world on the Edge of the Sea of Stars named Evohe, feels there is no place for her among her people. She is seen as strange both for her appearance, which is different than that thought to be normal for an eighteen-cycle old seed-maiden, and for her dreams, not of finding a mate and making a homeplace and a family with him, but of exploring the Sea of Stars that she looks up at every night and longs to see. Her parents lie at rest in the Elder Grove deep in the woods near her homeground, and, since the passing of Lilliane, the elder who had been her guardian since she was fourteen cycles old, Annah has lived alone; the ‘girl who walks with no one.’

She remains alone until the night she sees a great fire streak from the starry sky above her parents’ homeground and, following its path, finds the wreckage of what she knows from the shared Memories of her people is a star-vessel of the sort her own people had once traveled in. Inside the ruined craft, she finds a human male, badly injured and close to death. Torn between the Memories that tell her the people of Earth were responsible for the near-extinction of her own world and the voice of Spirit that insists all life is the same, she nurses him back to health, finding in the human Gary Holder a mirror of her own search for belonging and desire for a larger purpose. Their growing connection, and the Evoetians’ sense of humans as enemies, sets in motion a chain of events that may either destroy Annah’s world a second time, or lead to a new future of understanding: a new age of the Shapers.

Annah is the first novel in Clay Gilbert's science-fiction series Children of Evohe, published by Rara Avis, an imprint of PDMI Publishing. Annah is due for release on September 15, 2013, and is expected to be followed by Annah's Exile in 2014 and Children of Evohe in 2015.

Related website: Annah's World (childrenofevohe.com): This is the official site for the Children of Evohe series, and has a character blog featuring Annah's own commentary about her world and her people, designed to fill in narrative gaps before and between the volumes of the series. It also contains information about the series, its author, and its publisher.

Meet Clay Gilbert, the genius behind Annah!

Clay Gilbert lives and works in Knoxville, Tennessee, where he divides his time between writing, teaching English for Strayer University, and working across the electronic sea of the Internet as the Chief Editor for PDMI Publishing.  He believes, as Annah does, that it takes many notes to make up the Song of the World, and that the understanding of differences between people, nations and cultures holds perhaps the most important key to the future.   This book, he hopes, will help make a difference in that.  He shares his living and writing space with his cat, Bella, and his ball python, Andy.  He is currently at work on Annah's Exile, Book Two of Children of Evohe, also coming soon from PDMI.

What a refreshing read to the Book Industry, I'm excited to start reading all about Annah!

Welcome Dianne Gardner!

Topping Amazon's Paid Best Sellers list in children's Sword and Sorcery
Nominated for The Endeavor Award 2012

"Within seconds, the light show vanished and Ian opened one eye. What he had experienced was not at all what he had expected. No unusual sensations fizzled through his body. He hadn't felt like he was plummeting in an elevator, or blasting through space like in a rocket ship. It didn't even feel like he might be racing down an escape chute on an airplane. No jet sounds, or hums, or buzzes, rattled in his ears."

And so young Ian Wilson enters the Realm.
The first book of a trilogy, Deception Peak is a young adult adventure fantasy about a teenager, Ian Wilson, who follows his father through a portal that magically appears on their computer screen. They travel into a deceptively beautiful Realm, where horses run free, the wind sings prophetic melodies, and their computer avatars come to life.

But when the two are separated, Ian is abducted by a tribe of dragon worshipers and is forced to find his courage. As he struggles for his freedom and embarks on a perilous search to find his father, Ian meets the true peacekeepers of the Realm. It's then that he learns there is a greater purpose for being there.

Book 2 and 3 The Dragon Shield and Rubies and Robbers are available now!
If you enjoy dragons, sorcery, wizards, magic, legend, and fantasy adventure, than this series is for you!
