Natural hot springs!
This heated water comes from the ground's crust. People have always gathered around and taken advantage of these oases since before the Vikings.
Clothing is optional. NOT in Utah, but always be careful if you're bringing the kiddles along anyway!
I've passed several natural hot springs here in my state, but have never had the true desire to dip into something that might house single-celled organisms. *Shiver*

Those hot springs look like gorgeous places. The bathtub is so random.
ReplyDeleteI don't think we have any here in England, but I'm not sure I'd want to take a dip in one either!
I've been to a few. Firstly, I was at one when I was maybe 4 or 5, so I don't know that I remember it so much as remember the photos of it! I also was in a river in NZ in 1998 that had natural hot springs flowing into it. And finally, I was in a hot spring in Canada when it was snowy and icy cold all around...it was quite an experience!
ReplyDeleteI love the bathtub!! Yay for natural hot springs!! Aww it's amazing - what a wonder! Take care

I'm in the UK. All our natural sources of water are annoyingly tepid. Also, there's the endless drizzle to think about.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to have a soak at the moment, my back is all aches and pains. Your pictures make it look so inviting! Blessings, Amanda

ReplyDeleteThose photos are gorgeous! Thanks for sharing about the springs. I'd love to go to one.
ReplyDeleteThe best ones are the ones that don't stink of sulfur.

ReplyDeleteNever been to a hot spring, but your pics make me want to! Just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLovely! I dont think i ever experienced any hot ones. Cold ones, yes! In Mongolia, i used to go to holiday camps with my parents. The holiday camps were located near spring and spa. These were natural ones in the wild. Some of them were considered to be medicinal. So people who had kidney pain, eczima, joint pain etc would go to different camps. I loved these camps, purely we played all day. Thank you for your *hugs on my blog. ❤
ReplyDeleteYes, Glenwood Springs in Colorado. Loved it, but you do have to get over the smell and remember not to wear silver jewelry. ;-)
ReplyDeleteLoved your pictures. I'm your newest follower and a first timer to A to Z.
